Hi everyone!
Ali Guess here, this year’s blogger for the Newberg Rotary Club’s annual service trip to Guatemala. This the ninth year we are partnering with the Rotary Club of Antigua to elevate El Hato and Vuelta Grande out of poverty.
We’re setting off to Guatemala later this week; teammates are arriving Friday and Saturday. We’ll begin setting up Saturday in Vuelta Grande and the first dental clinic will be on Sunday. The second half of the trip we will devote our services to the town of El Hato and Transitions Foundation of Guatemala. This year our focus will be primarily on dental and we’ll have one physical therapist giving treatments. A special fact to note this year is that all eight volunteering dentists began their work with us as dental students and continue to give their expertise and time.
Additionally, we’ll be giving updates on the educational program that the rotary club has been sponsoring.
